Beverley Town Under 12s Mileathon

4th March 2021

What a great achievement, a huge thank you to the Beverley Under 12’s Football Team, read how they set themselves a challenge during Lockdown 3.0 whilst raising money for the Foodbank…

Since the announcement of Lockdown version 3, we have been trying to think of ways that the team can stay fit and motivated, whilst not being able to train or play matches.
So we set ourselves a challenge; collectively run/walk 600 miles in 6 weeks. 12 players, 3 coaches and all parents were invited to take part. (Obviously all activities being done safely as per the Covid exercise rules.)
This was not just for a personal or team gain, but to raise money for the East Riding Food Bank. Our kids are a kind and thoughtful bunch and wanted to give something back to the local community.
Our friends at Cherry Windows and Doors (https://www.facebook.com/Cherrywindowsanddoors) supported us from the start and kindly sponsored us per mile completed. The total money raised at the end of the last mile was £156.25
Overall it has been a memorable experience for the team, keeping us closer together, with the aim to support a well regarded charity.
Thanks again to Cherry Windows and Doors, for their generosity throughout this activity
